Work Experience Success

The school is building up it’s contacts with local businesses in order to access work placements in the community for our pupils.  Well done to Victor who has had a very positive start at a local launderette.  Victor has been supported at his placement by one of his tutors and is enjoying his weekly work sessions, huge well done to him. The launderette owner, William, has been full of praise for Victor and has fed back the following:

It is a pleasure to have Victor with us – he is picking up the process really quickly – I strongly believe we should be offering these students the chance to learn and thrive within the community.  To be honest I was somewhat apprehensive at the outset of having one of your students but have found no issues with Victor.

You and your staff have been totally professional throughout and I hope other organisations can see that the benefits of giving a student like Victor the opportunity to learn simple transferable tasks far outweigh the small amount of time commitment required.

If you would be interested in offering a work placement to one of our pupils, please contact our work experience co-ordinator, smatthews@stepbystepschool.org.uk.
